Job Description: The primary focus of this position is to work closely with academic staff in faculties in the development of new academic programmes. The incumbent will be required to provide both curriculum advice and advice on meeting the internal and external regulatory requirements to offer new programmes. The latter will be performed under guidance. Responsibilities: Work with the Manager: Academic Planning and Quality Promotion with regards to: Facilitating processes relating to both internal and external QA Coordinating e programme reviews across faculties Facilitating e programme review workshops Supporting faculties and the CAPQP with all professional body accreditation and audit activities If required, attending professional body / quality council training and other events Assisting with all accreditations and site visit preparations Assisting with the critical reading of SERs in preparation for accreditation visits Providing commentary on faculty improvement plans Participating as required in capacity development activities internally and externally. Participating as required in curriculum transformation activities. Collaborating and assisting in quality promotion activities in the university. Facilitate, as needed, various training events (programme development, programme review, etc.) Participate in benchmarking the UJ quality promotion system. Participate in engagements with higher education institutions as required, on: Quality Assurance/ promotion matters; Policy related matters; Other aspects of shared value; Internal and external programme and curriculum-related workshops, conferences etc. Qualifications: A Masters / honours degree or equivalent Experience: Experience with the quality assurance of higher education in South Africa Experience in facilitating programme reviews Experience in working with professional accreditation bodies (e.g. ECSA) Knowledge: A working knowledge of the internal and external environments of higher education, with specific reference to the broad activites of quality assurance and its processes.
