Duties and Responsibilities: - manage the day-to-day running of the company canteen - take food orders and receive payments for orders - prepare, cook, plate and serve all menu items - plan and update menu items frequently - ensure that all food is of excellent quality and is served in a timely manner - check freshness of food and discard out-of-date items - take stock of ingredients and equipment and place orders to replenish stock - employ food safety best practices at all times and maintain hygiene standards in the kitchen - ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area - any ad hoc duties as required by the company Skills and Experience: - National Senior Certificate - A minimum of 3 years proven experience as a chef - Excellent organisational and multitasking skills - Good communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to work effectively under pressure
