The primary responsibility of this position is to Lead and manage a team of creditors clerks, providing guidance, support, and training as needed. Additionally, this role will also be involved in hands-on tasks related to the capturing and processing of invoices, performing of reconciliations, preparation / budgeting for creditors' payments and assistance with supplier queries. Accounts Payable: Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice processing, expense management, and payment disbursement Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data entry into the accounting system Direct involvement in the processing of valid expenses in accordance with company policies and procedures Vendor Management: Maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers, addressing any inquiries or issues promptly Highlight irregular payment terms and potential discounts with vendors to optimize cash flow and minimize costs Coordinate with procurement and other departments to ensure timely receipt of goods and services Financial Reporting and Analysis: Generate regular reports on accounts payable aging, outstanding liabilities, and payment performance Analyze data to identify trends, potential risks, and opportunities for process improvements Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals and reconciliations Compliance and Internal Controls: Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud Participate in audits and assist auditors in providing necessary documentation and explanations Employee management and development Ensure overall compliance to relevant procedures and policies Ensure that all team members have clearly defined job profiles Regular goal reviews are completed to assess achievement of results Support, coaching and mentoring is continuously provided to ensure that objectives are met Appropriate allocation of resources to meet operational demands Ensure adequate succession planning in order to meet ongoing and anticipated business requirements Health and Safety Participate in safety forums and attend relevant training/programmes Report all safety incidents to the relevant people Comply with safety policies and procedures Wear protective clothing (where applicable) at all times Qualification and Experience Minimum of a Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 Relevant tertiary qualification essential Minimum of two years relevant working experience and demonstrated experience in managing a team Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes Good organizational skills Attention to detail Self-driven and motivated Good communication skills Good interpersonal skills Assertive nature and positive High levels of initiative Logical thinker Customer service orientated Works well under pressure SOILL VALUES Ownership Accountability and Responsibility Respect We treat others how we want to be treated.
