Robert Walters Africa As a Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading a team of six experienced developers. You will be responsible for ensuring high-quality development by upholding coding standards, conducting thorough code reviews, and implementing robust testing procedures. Your role will also involve planning and managing changes effectively, overseeing code management within your team, and providing valuable technical input during the solution design phase. You will be expected to communicate effectively, fostering collaboration with other teams and stakeholders. Furthermore, you will have the responsibility of expanding team capacity by increasing productivity and facilitating recruitment when necessary. Lastly, you will be tasked with maintaining and improving the overall development process. Leading and motivating a team of six experienced developers Ensuring high-quality development through upholding coding standards, conducting code reviews, and implementing proper testing procedures Planning and managing changes effectively Overseeing code management within the team Providing technical input during the solution design phase Communicating effectively and collaborating with other teams and stakeholders Expanding team capacity through increasing productivity and when appropriate recruitment Maintaining and improving the development process The ideal Development Manager candidate brings solid coding experience on an enterprise-level financial system along with a good understanding of coding principles and standards. With over 10 years of experience in the software development field, you are well-versed in leading teams and driving high-quality outputs. A passion for Africa and willingness to work in the developing world context would be advantageous, as would experience working in scaling start-up environments. We value innovative independent thinkers who are not afraid to go against the grain in their approach.
