Duties & Responsibilities: As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in producing electrical drawings in accordance with engineering standard practices and procedures, contributing to the creation of electrical schematics, designs, and estimations. Education: BTech, BEng, BSc Electrical Engineering. Job Experience & Skills Required: Experience in process plant design and layout Excellent knowledge of relevant CAD software, coupled with a working understanding of relational spreadsheets Experience: Phase control power rectifiers Photo Voltaic design and installation LV Switchgear design & manufacturing Manufacturing of PLC Panels Variable Speed drives installation and commissioning Maintenance on Power Transformers Responsibilities: Designing, developing, and testing electrical systems and components. Conducting feasibility studies and cost estimates for projects. Liaising with clients on current projects. Overseeing contractors during the manufacturing of projects. Project management of project during manufacturing and installation stages as applicable. Collaborating with teams to develop innovative solutions for electrical systems. Implementing safety procedures and protocols for electrical projects. Troubleshooting and resolving issues with electrical systems. Managing project timelines and budgets. Providing technical support and guidance to team members. Staying up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in electrical engineering. Requirements: Functional safety and hazardous area experience and/or exposure in mining/industrial environments. Assist service Technicians with problem solving. Timely completion of mechanical drawings and schedules. Knowledge of instrumentation, control systems and communications elements relevant to the delivery of a fully functional plant. Experience in stages of project development and delivery (Studies, Engineering & Construction, Commissioning). Understanding of relevant South African and industry codes and standards. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with ability to convey electrical engineering outcomes with clients, stakeholders and other disciplines as required.
