An opportunity for an experienced ENGINEERING STOREMAN is required for permanent employment based in Newcastle.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Complete management of engineering / mechanical / electrical workshop stores.
Issuing, recording, controls and returns of;

Internal requisitions
Buying / procurement duties
Stock management & codes
Receiving / returns (sign in / sign outs)
Stock checks / levels
Engineering equipment
Spares
Small tools
Consumables
Raw Materials
Personal Protective Equipment
Pallet control
Plastics

Quantity controlsAdministration controls and recordsStock takes, counts and standby stockReporting to Admin, Procurement & Workshop managementLiaising with suppliersCyclically stock counts, stock levels, vehicle stock, and standby stockMaintain cleanliness and organization of the store area, including shelving, bins, and storage racksAdhere to health and safety regulations and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Position related tertiary qualification (adv) + Grade 12 (Matric)
Min 3-5 years proven exp in a similar role as an engineering storeman.
Industry related experience (Plant / Maintenance / Engineering / Electrical / Production / Workshop) required.
Procurement / Buying exp (adv).
Computer literate (MS Office with strong MS Excel spreadsheet) exp.
Contactable / traceable references.
Newcastle residency required.

SKILLS:

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to lift and move heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment.
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
