An opportunity for an experienced QA / QC INSPECTOR (ELECTRICAL) is required for permanent employment based in Newcastle.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Inspect incoming parts and repaired / reworked components according to the order requirements
Inspect raw materials to ensure consistency and integrity confirm to the order with regard to material specifications
Assist fitters and personnel with component measurements during assembly when required
Follow all intervention points as marked up on motor assembly QCPs routings with regards to hold, verification, witness and review points
Visual inspection of complete AC / DC motors and signing off final release / final quality control checklist
Marking of order number and material on components where required, also ensure trackability on any material movement within or out of the company
Filing of all drawings, material certificates etc on the system
Report problems or concerns to responsible Supervisor / Manager immediately
Carry out NCR on items or issues timeously and process timeously
Carry out accurate quality control reporting on motors / items when required
Maintain measuring equipment and ensure items are calibrated at all times and report any issues
Carry out NDT testing and required reporting under his/ her skill levels of NDT testing
Maintain high level of quality and standards at all times
Comply with and enforce all Policies and Procedures
Carry out all other reasonable tasks that may be delegated from time to time
Assist fellow employees with daily functions as and when required
Write/contribute to Audits, investigation reports, fill out quality documentation
Complete reporting requirements accordingly
Review and sign off quality packs and documentation

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Grade 12 (Matric)
Qualified / Trade Tested, Mechanical/Electrical Fitter / Fitter & Turner
5 Years experience in QA/QC
Supervisory experience (advantage)
Engineering / Workshop background required
Certification in quality control is preferred.
Some exposure with mechanical systems, such as AC / DC motors, will be beneficial.
Computer Literacy
Knowledge of Quality Control standards and testing / inspection methodologies
Non-destructive testing experience is advantageous
Able to read and interpret technical literature and drawings
Attention to detail
Willing attitude to learn and take advice
Assembly of electrical motors and knowledge would be an advantage
Newcastle residency required
