Executive Manager: Warehousing & Shipping - - Johannesburg

Qualifications & Requirements:

Minimum 8 years relevant experience in Warehousing, Bulk Handling, Bulk Shipping and Customs Clearance at an Executive Level.
Experience in Vessel Chartering, International Trade and Trade Finance.
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to direct functions and performance via the executive team effectively.
Strong problem solving and creative skills.
Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis.
High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientated.
The ability to make decisions that would positively develop the business strategy to achieve agreed targets and expend the company''s business scope.
Constant communication with all the stakeholders of the Company and maintaining a healthy relationship with them.
High level of commercial contract negotiation skills.
High knowledge regarding procurement and supplier processes within the transport industry.
Ability to build new relationships with external stake holders.

Accountabilities:

Responsible for the day-to-day activities of the Warehouse operations.
Responsible for maintaining and exceeding quality standards.
Ensuring department heads stay on budget.
Installing systems, rules and regulations to make the company operations run smoother and more efficiently.
To work closely with the CEO to execute operational goals set by the CEO for the business.
To remove bottlenecks from one operational segment of the company which may impede on the productivity of another.
To analyze opportunities to utilize the trucks to optimum capacity and to streamline the operation for top performance.
Take the responsibility of deciding where resources will be allocated and ensuring that all parties are on board with the decisions.
Keep a close relationship with other managers to ensure efficient operational efficiency and optimum utilization of company resources.
To negotiate the best price points for company assets.
Negotiate commercial contracts in line with company strategy.
Ensure the management of suppliers and procurement.
Responsible for setting operational strategy in a competitive business.
Executive Manager: Warehousing & Shipping
Develop / document procedure manuals for all key company processes, including operational process / data flow charts, within and across functions.
Develop operational specs for all key company projects, ensuring alignment across the Warehouses.
Technical resources review to include assessment of hardware and software capacity requirements to ensure client requirements are met.
Coordinate / manage key deliverables / milestones across clients, with clear delivery dates, accountability / identified "owners" dependencies, performance against target delivery dates.
Manage monthly performance reviews and key metrics across functions, to be presented and evaluated by each team monthly, including client satisfaction metrics.
Build processes for continuous improvement of critical operational metrics across key functions.
Manage longer-term development projects across the company, including short-term requests and longer-term development projects.
Reporting / analyzing, including business intelligence for internal (management) requirements, as well as client-facing requirements.
Prioritizing of projects, based on input of CEO; financial analysis of revenue and costs, and assessment of impact on client satisfaction.
