Our Freight Client is currently looking for an Exports Clerk Sea and Air ) to join their team based in Kloof, Durban This position will be ideal for a Graduate or someone with 1-3 years experience. This positions focus is primarily sea and air exports, with some imports. Handle import and export files, including quoting, contracting service providers, liaise with customer, resolve queries and invoicing the customer. Salary: R15 000 -R25 000 depending on experience Requirements: Matric / Freight qualification will be an advantage 1-3 years experience in Exports – Sea and Air (clearing and forwarding) Advantage if you have Imports experience Working hours: 08h00 – 16h30 Primary Functions: Quotations for export and import LCL/FCL sea freight and airfreight. This includes requesting rates from relevant service providers. Open files for export and import LCL/FCL sea freight and airfreight. Maintaining internal registering system. Distributing instructions to relevant service providers. Maintain contact with service providers to expedite the completion of a delivery. Daily/as relevant updates to customers. Occasional site/port attendance to supervise loads and support port supervisor. Liaise with shippers/consignee's in regard to customer clearance, specifically HS codes, declared values and other details that may be required to effect customs clearance. Pre advise containers on Navis. Settle any challenges with carrier in regards to Navis pre advice. Submit Shipping instruction (bill details) to carrier/airline. Request/secure Arrival Notifications. Receive, check and authorise invoices from service providers. Please take note: if you have not been contacted within 14 days, please consider your application unsuccessful.
