A leading company based in Midrand are looking to recruit a Facilities Manager to join their team. We are looking for an exceptional facilities manager to work in ensuring our facility and grounds remain clean, safe and of high quality. Applicants should have knowledge and experience in plumbing, electrical work and other skills applicable within the built environment. The facilities manager will oversee all aspects of the facility maintenance functions and guarantees the functionality and compliance of the facility. Duties include running routine safety inspections, corresponding with contractors, planning maintenance work, maintaining records, and supervising facilities staff and contractors. The ideal candidate should be well-versed in facilities management, and exhibit high multitasking, and strong organizational skills. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: Your key performance areas will be: 1. Maintaining day-to-day facility operations, such as delegating or completing maintenance orders 2. Running routine maintenance inspections and efficiently resolve challenges with cost effective solutions 3. Identifying facility related gaps and deficiencies in services, advise and effect solutions 4. Monitoring interior and exterior areas of facility for functionality, compliance and aesthetics 5. Monitoring service providers' (contractors) performance and effect corrective action on any deviations from desired outcomes 6. Occasionally undertake the physical aspects with the facilities team (plumbing, electrical, painting) 7. Sourcing contractors, service providers, assets, and maintenance resources 8. Organizing and planning short and long term facility repairs, instalments, and refurbishments. 9. Manage staff performance & facilitate improvement through regular performance management 10. Collaborating with upper management on budgeting for the facility 11. Managing day to day facility management expenses 12. Ensuring appropriate security measures for the facility in collaboration with security contractor 13. Implementation of an effective HSE, Quality & Risk Management system KEY DELIVERABLES: The products and outcomes you are required to deliver will be: 1. The diligent management of day to day facility related activities, expenses, and assets 2. The development and management of an efficient facilities management budget and process 3. An aesthetically pleasing facility 4. A facility that adheres to proper security, health and safety standards and procedures 5. A proactive and preventative approach in identifying and managing facility related challenges 6. The recommendation of innovative methods, based on best practices, in order to bring about cost-effective solutions 7. A facilities team that is prompt in addressing maintenance issues raised by tenants and management 8. A transparent and data driven weekly reporting framework on all facility management activities 9. High quality and timeously prepared tenant units that are ready for occupation 10. Well maintained and functional communal areas 11. The identification of appropriate contractors that have the capacity to deliver 12. Timeous processing of invoices 13. A facility team and contractors continuously adhering to agreed processes and procedures 14. Training, coaching, mentoring & development of facilities team 15. A facilities team that has a respectful relationship with all tenants, team members and contractors. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 1. 8 years facility management work experience 2. Practical experience in plumbing, electrical work and other skills applicable within the built environment. 3. Relevant qualification would be an advantage 4. Has own transport 5. Computer Literate 6. Ability to prioritise workload effectively and work methodically to tight deadlines 7. Good people management skills 8. Strong communication skills, both written and spoken. 9. Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds R20 000- R30 000 CTC
