Factory Maintenance Engineer (FMCG) - South Africa
Requirements:
Responsibilities:
- Degree in Engineering: Industrial / Mechanical or similar
- 3-5 years experience in refrigeration or food industries
- Experience with ammonia refrigeration and food processing plants advantageous
- Matric with Mathematics
- CAD Experience advantageous
- Experience with high capacity 3Ph motors
- Mechanical service experience
- Knowledge of Pneumatic systems, switch gear, and water treatment
- Computer literate
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and upkeep plant and facilities
- Implement, maintain, and improve efficiencies within the plant
- Set up and schedule a maintenance program
- Maintain adequate levels of spare parts
- Manage critical spare parts inventory
- Liaise with contractors/OEM suppliers
- Assist and manage new expansion programs
- Project management
- Setup Capital and Maintenance Budgets
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and other relevant legislation
- Ensure a safe working environment
- Attend to breakdowns in warehouse and production areas, as well as minor maintenance required throughout the business
- Schedule preventative maintenance
- Find alternative ways to limit production downtime and increase productivity
- Identify, meet, and vet new maintenance suppliers
- Ensure ammonia plant is running at required suction pressures
