Job Overview: The Financial Accounting Manager will report to the Group Head of Financial Reporting and will oversee a small team to ensure accurate and timely completion of the month-end close process for all Group entities. Responsibilities include preparing, reviewing, and submitting regulatory returns, VAT and tax calculations, and providing financial information to various business functions across the Group, aiding them in budgeting and investment decisions. Key Responsibilities: Ensure high-quality financial outputs from the accounting team, including weekly and monthly bank reconciliations. Coordinate with the accounts payable team to correctly book accruals and prepayments. Work with the billing team on billing, WIP accruals, bad debt provisions, and income split journals for Group entities. Provide technical guidance on complex accounting transactions or IFRS calculations to the Group Accountant. Review monthly trend analysis, profit and loss, and balance sheet reports for assigned Group entities. Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, VAT and tax returns, and flag any unusual items. Ensure compliance with all financial and accounting regulations and legislation. Assist with regulatory returns and provide data for monthly regulatory capital updates. Prepare and review cash flow forecasts, expenditure, and cash flow control. Prepare and review year-end statutory financial statements, respond to ad-hoc financial queries, and liaise with auditors. Qualifications: Chartered accountant (ACCA or CA) with several years of post-qualification experience. Proficient in IFRS and regulatory filings. Experienced in managing, developing, and motivating teams. Skilled in project management. Knowledgeable about various jurisdictional tax requirements and experienced in financial services. Ideal Candidate: Someone with the right to live and work in the Isle of Man. Excellent technical accounting skills. Strong coaching and management abilities, leading by example. Proficient in various accounting systems, with knowledge of Microsoft Business Central being advantageous. Advanced Excel skills, including macros, Power Pivot, and Power BI. Highly detail-oriented and organized with a logical approach. Proactive, solutions-oriented, and able to work effectively under pressure. Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills, capable of delivering presentations at Board level and influencing change.
