RESPONSIBILITIES:- Accounting of the business and trust accounts (assisted by a junior), up to Trial Balance
- Completing the month end process and preparing the monthly management reports
- Preparing Board meeting agenda, taking minutes
- Updating of Long term cashflow reports through liaising with department heads on expected fees in pipeline
- Monthly salary journals, Intercompany Journals and Invoicing
- Performing fees transfers on the system to take fees from Trust to Business as required (weekly)
- Assisting directors with posting WIP as per timesheets to AJS and finalising invoices, as well as managing debtors and following up on payments
- Reviewing the creditors processing
- Compiling the information pack for the directors personal tax(which is done by the auditors)
- Preparation of salaries on Sage VIP Cloud Payroll
- Statutory compliance
- Basic HR such as leave recording, preparing letters of appointment and contracts of employment
- Submission of WSP/ATR Report annually (assisted by consultant)
- Creation of the invoices on AJS for Conveyancing fees (Transfers, Bonds and BCS)
- Preparation of audit files for the Statutory Audit of Financial statements, the Attorney Trust audit and the BEE audit annually Liaising with auditors to assist them with the documentation as required
REQUIREMENTS:- Tertiary Accounting Diploma/Degree (B.Com or B.Acc)
- SAIPA, SAICA or CIMA articles or
- 3 years experience as a financial accountant
- Legal firm experience would be beneficial
