The purpose of the role is to develop and maintain long term financial models for the Group by providing accurate insights tailored to the dynamics of the retail and wholesale industry, in order to support strategic planning and decision making for the Group which will drive key business initiatives, optimise financial performance, and enhance the company's competitive position in the market. Reports to the Group Operating Officer. Financial Modelling •Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models to support the equity case, strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and decision-making processes for the Group. This includes international divisions and national group holdings. •Analyse historical financial data, market trends, and operational metrics to identify key drivers and develop rolling forecasts for the Group. •Build scenario based financial models to evaluate the potential impact of market dynamics, regulatory changes, and other external factors on business performance. •Incorporate the use of machine learning and AI to automate models and forecasts and provide continuous process improvement for efficiency and accuracy. •Understand the capital requirements of the business and prepare long term financial plans for life of DCs. •Carry out financial analysis by evaluating business information and transactions. •Analyse financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to senior leadership to support strategic decision making and performance improvement initiatives. •Design financial presentations and dashboards for internal and external partners, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and timeliness. •Stay abreast on industry trends, competitor performance, and macroeconomic indicators to provide strategic insights and recommendations for business growth and expansion. •Assess financial risks and opportunities, conduct sensitivity analysis, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure business resilience and continuity. •Perform scenario analysis by considering the macro and micro factors that will assist in assessing risk. •Provide advice on significant financial and non-financial risks and suggest actions. Stakeholder relationship management: •Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, enhance data accuracy, and optimise resource allocation to drive efficiency and effectiveness. •Collaborate with cross-functional teams including finance, retail operations, marketing, procurement, logistics, and distribution centres to gather inputs, validate assumptions, and ensure alignment of financial models with business objectives. •Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering or any other related qualification •Relevant postgraduate qualification of financial certification will be advantageous, e.g. Financial Modelling & Valuation analyst, CA (SA), CFA •5 years' experience in financial modelling, analytics and working closely with the Finance team •Advanced proficiency in Financial Modelling software Market related with Benefits Apply Now
