This role requires technical expertise in mechanical systems and the ability to work with precision. Key Responsibilities: Installation: Install machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and schematics. Assemble parts and equipment using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment. Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal operation. Inspect machines regularly for signs of wear and tear and replace worn parts. Repair: Diagnose mechanical issues and determine the appropriate repair solutions. Replace or repair defective parts using manual tools, welding equipment, and lathes. Testing: Test repaired machinery to ensure it is operating correctly. Make necessary adjustments and fine-tuning for optimal performance. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work. Document any changes made to machinery and equipment. Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure that all safety devices are in place and functional. Qualifications and Skills: Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Vocational training or apprenticeship in mechanical fitting or a related field. Experience: Proven experience as a mechanical fitter or in a similar role. Experience with various types of machinery and mechanical systems. Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments. Proven experience as a mechanical fitter or in a similar role.
