Prins Edward Island – Canada: Our client is looking for a General Farm Worker to join the team. This is a seasonal contract position. Only candidates with the relevant experience will be considered. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 2 years’ experience on a farm performing farming duties required 1 year experience performing general farm equipment maintenance required 1 year experience operating tractors and forklifts required 3A truck license and experience operating an excavator preferable. KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED Ability to operate farm equipment, including tractors and forklifts. Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment. Welding ability. Adaptability, collaboration, active learning, attention to detail, strong work ethic, social orientation, cleanliness. Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly. KEY KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED Basic knowledge of operating farm equipment Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural equipment Basic knowledge of agriculture and processes in producing a vegetable crop. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Assist other farm workers to plant and grow crops, move and set up irrigation systems, harvest crops, and perform other farm related duties. Load, unload, pack and transport potatoes during shipping season. Do general clean up of growing, producing, harvesting, packing and shipping areas. Assist with general farm maintenance and maintenance of equipment and tools. May assist in clearing woodland with an excavator. ONLY short-listed candidates will be contacted.
