The abovementioned career opportunity is currently available at the BSSA. This is the ideal position for a dynamic person to take responsibility for the effective management and administration of the BSSA’s employee relations and human resources manuals, policies, programs, practices and tasks. In addition to the HR related responsibilities, the incumbent will also assist the Finance Department with advanced accounting to general ledger.
Key Performance Areas:
- Effectively manage all employee relations matters (including but not limited to counselling, grievances, disciplinary action etc.)
- Monitor and implement applicable legislation and legal requirements
- Oversight of performance management system
- Ensure the personnel manual, policies, systems and procedures comply with legal requirements and relevant legislation
- Ensure accurate, effective, and timeous payroll and leave processing
- Employee administration and support (e.g. medical aid, retirement fund, succession planning, personnel files, etc.)
- Compile budgets in conjunction with Finance Department
- Advanced monthly and yearly journals and balance sheet reconciliations
- Preparation of all relevant documentation needed for auditing purposes
- Liaison with auditors during audit process and investigation of queries
Requirements:
- Relevant graduate qualification (HR, Accounting)
- Completed Articles with an Audit / Accounting company will strengthen the application
- At least five years’ experience in a similar role
- Advanced knowledge of both labour and financial legislation
- Experience in payroll processing
- Relationship building and ability to motivate staff
- Financial acumen and the ability to analyse and interpret data
- Ethics and professionalism
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with the utmost discretion
- Computer skills (MS Office & Relevant Accounting / Payroll packages)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English & Afrikaans)
