Phakisa Holdings is currently seeking a HSE Officer in the Sun City area. Developing Safety Policies and Procedures : Formulate and implement health and safety policies and procedures specific to construction sites. Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., OHS Act in South Africa). Risk Assessment and Hazard Control : Conduct regular risk assessments and inspections of construction sites and activities. Identify hazards and recommend corrective measures to eliminate or control risks. Training and Education : Provide training to workers and supervisors on health and safety protocols, including emergency procedures and the use of protective equipment. Promote awareness campaigns to educate workers about potential hazards and safe practices. Incident Investigation and Reporting : Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and property damage. Prepare detailed reports on incidents, including root cause analysis and recommendations for preventive actions. Safety Inspections and Audits : Conduct regular inspections of construction sites, equipment, and machinery to ensure compliance with safety standards. Perform audits to verify adherence to safety regulations and procedures. Emergency Preparedness : Develop emergency response plans and procedures for various scenarios (e.g., fires, spills, medical emergencies). Organize and participate in drills to evaluate the effectiveness of emergency plans. Environmental Management : Monitor construction activities to minimize environmental impact (e.g., waste management, pollution prevention). Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permits. Safety Culture Promotion : Foster a safety-conscious culture among workers and management. Encourage active participation in safety initiatives and programs. Documentation and Record Keeping : Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, training sessions, and safety meetings. Ensure that documentation is up to date and accessible as per regulatory requirements. Collaboration and Communication : Liaise with management, contractors, and regulatory authorities on health, safety, and environmental issues. Communicate regularly with stakeholders to promote safety awareness and compliance. Grade 12 SAMTRAC, Valid Registration SACPCMP Hazardous Identification and Risk Assessment Fall Protection Plan Incident Investigation Fire Fighting level 1 3 years' experience as HSE Officer Computer literate Can speak, read, and write English. R90.00 an hour with overtime paid if worked 6 month contract The employee must be local base around Sun City as there will be no accommodation or transport allowance given. Apply Now
