We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Human Resource and Payroll Officer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in human resources management and payroll processing, with a keen understanding of relevant legislation and proficiency in HR software. This role involves handling various HR and payroll tasks, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and supporting the HR department in executing special projects and initiatives. Administer payroll functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee salaries, wages, and benefits. Maintain and update HR records, including employee data, payroll information, and attendance records. Coordinate recruitment processes, including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding. Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations such as the Employment Equity Act, Skills Development Act, Labour Relations Act, and Basic Conditions of Employment Act. Facilitate training and development programs for employees, supporting their career growth and enhancing organizational performance. Manage employee relations, addressing issues such as grievances, disciplinary actions, and performance management. Support the implementation of special HR initiatives and projects, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the HR department. Utilize HRMS and VIP systems for efficient HR and payroll management. Prepare and present HR and payroll reports as needed. A Diploma or Degree in Human Resources Management. At least 3 to 5 years of experience as a Human Resources Officer or Generalist. Intermediate understanding of the Employment Equity Act, Skills Development Act, Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, and other applicable legislation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Strong knowledge of pay and benefits administration, recruitment processes, and training and development. Comprehensive understanding of labor laws and disciplinary procedures. Experience in coordinating special HR initiatives and projects. Knowledge of HRMS is advantageous. Proficiency in VIP payroll systems is essential. Grade 12/Matric Certificate (mandatory). A tertiary qualification in payroll or accounting is preferred. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
