Human Resources Officer - Cape Town City Centre

Job Title: HR Officer
Location: Airport City, Cape Town
Salary: R25 000 - R35 000 - (Depending on Experience and qualifications)
Closing date: End July 2024


Duties and responsibilities:
  • Technical Recruitment and Selection (end-to-end):
    • Identifying recruitment needs.
    • Drafting and designing job descriptions.
    • Sourcing candidates through various channels.
    • Screening and conducting interviews alongside the relevant line managers.
    • Onboarding of new employees.
    • Reference checks
  • Coordinate onboarding activities for new hires, including documentation and onboarding presentations.
  • Employee Relations: Act as the first point of contact for employee queries, offering guidance and support on HR policies, procedures and best practices.
  • Provide administrative support to the HR department.
  • Manage HR-related documentation, such as contract of employment and personnel files in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions.
  • Employee Welfare: promote employee well-being and contribute to fostering a positive work culture.
  • Assist in performance management processes, including conducting performance reviews and providing guidance on performance improvement plans.
  • Support employee relations initiatives and contribute to fostering a positive work culture.
  • Support the management of disciplinary and grievance issues.
Non- negotiable qualifications and experience required:
  • A Diploma in Human Resource Management/Industrial Psychology is essential,
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a HR role which includes some recruitment duties.
  • Experience in the aviation and engineering sector will be advantageous.
  • Valid drivers licence
  • Computer literacy (MS Office, Excel, and Word)
  • High degree of integrity, confidentiality, and excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.

Beneficial requirements:
  • a Degree Human Resource Management/Industrial Psychology would be advantageous.
