Promeal, one of the largest players in the wet pet food category in Southern Africa is awaiting applications from dynamic, needs driven and self-motivated individuals, with knowledge and understanding of FMCG markets. The company is in an exciting transformational phase driving our consumer facing brands “Petleys” and “Boss” as well as, developing best practice principles. We are looking for an experienced FMCG sales professional based in Johannesburg, specializing in customer portal data management and the execution of successful promotions. To manage and expand the relationship with the Key Account customers in order to achieve sales objectives and targets, maximizing sales opportunities within the allocated categories. Extensive travel will be required for this role. Responsibilities: •Develop the Customer and Key Account strategies for promotions, pricing, commercial terms in line with the Sales strategy •Monitor pricing accuracy and implement price increases within set time parameters to prevent claims •Identify best promotional mix to drive the best ROI •Evaluate promotional activity and measure ROI in conjunction with activations •Confirm that in-market execution is in-line with Sales strategy •Implement and oversee Trading Terms, ranging, new listings and pricing •Drive sales efficiency by regular interactions with the Promeal factory and Ops team •Ensure that the factory is customer focused and aligned with trends in the market •Provide direction on promotional plans, pricing and product launches in line with Sales strategy •Manage and grow customer profitability including supporting regular store visits •Manage customer portals and access to data •Forecast annual sales budgets and capex expenses in line with guidelines •Manage costs against approved budget •Report profitability and P&L •Manage top to top business reviews bi-annually Requirements: •Relevant tertiary degree in marketing or sales •Maximum of four or more years of experience preferably in retail key account management •Minimum two years of experience preferably in pet food category or fresh produce •Minimum two years new business development experience and understanding of route to market distribution •Ability to set sales targets and achieve them effectively •Strong analytical skills to identify trends and sales patterns •Pro-active thinking, to identify risks and opportunities and develop contingency strategies •Ability to effectively explore alternatives and positions to reach outcomes that gain all parties support and acceptance •Ability to build and manage relationships with internal and external customers •Expand range within existing key account
