Long Distance Assistant General Manager - Johannesburg
An exciting opportunity awaits a results-driven and detail-oriented Long Distance Assistant General Manager in the logistics industry based in Johannesburg. We are seeking an individual who is committed to operational excellence and customer satisfaction, we are seeking a proactive and experienced candidate to assist with the overall management and functioning of their Johannesburg operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Management:
- Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations, including inventory management, order fulfillment, and shipping/receiving processes.
- Develop and implement efficient and standardized warehouse procedures to ensure optimal productivity.
- Monitor and optimize space utilization within the warehouse.
- Team Leadership:
- Recruit, train, and lead a team of warehouse staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Conduct regular performance assessments, provide feedback, and support professional development.
- Implement safety protocols and ensure compliance with warehouse policies.
- Inventory Control:
- Implement and maintain robust inventory control systems to track stock levels accurately.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and full-scale inventory audits to minimize discrepancies.
- Client Relations:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment.
- Collaborate with the sales team to understand client needs and propose tailored solutions.
- Address client inquiries and concerns, striving for customer satisfaction.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and condition of stored products.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, health and safety standards, and company policies.
- Conduct regular inspections to maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Grade 12 / Matric Qualification non-negotiable.
- Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field an advantage.
- Proven experience in warehouse management, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and industry best practices.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
Remuneration:
- R45 000.00 – R 55 000.00 per month, total cost to the company.
