Our client, an established international brand who supply industrial air filtration solutions which control air pollution within manufacturing and mining environments are looking for a Sales Account Manager to join their team. The company is based on the far/ outlying side of the East Rand of Johannesburg. As a Sales Account Manager, you will spend 2 days in the office per week and 3 days out seeing clients either locally or further afield in South Africa as well as cross border. Your duties will include prospecting for new clients and keeping in touch with existing clients in order to promote and sell products and services. Clients can include the likes of Eskom Plants, Mines, Bag Houses, Cement Manufacturing companies and anywhere where they would have to filter the air and control dust pollution. In certain instances, you will have to get business by was of a tender process so you must be familiar with this. You must know how to build a pipeline and achieve sales targets in an environment where you do not get monthly deals from a client as once a client has been assisted; it is unlikely they will buy again for a 1 – 2 year period. Requirements: Matric is essential, tertiary is beneficial but not mandatory A minimum of 3 – 5 years business to business sales experience with a proven track record in opening doors to new customers Experience selling a technical product is ideal or any exposure or knowledge of the textile and filtration industry is an advantage Experience selling to a similar target market is ideal i.e. mining, plants, cement industry, bag houses etc Excellent verbal and written communication skills in business English Computer literacy at an advanced level Capability and willingness to travel in South Africa as well as cross border when required Please note, due to the nature of the business you will be required to successfully complete a full medical exam and be physically and medically capable of conducting site assessments and all other requirements of the position. On offer: A good, market-related salary plus medical aid and retirement contribution, a once per annum commission pay out at the end of February and a performance-based 13th cheque. You will receive a petrol card to use to cover business fuel expenses. We will consider candidates who are currently earning a cost to company of R35 – 45 000 as a benchmark with a view to making offers slightly higher than this.
