Our client is a manufacturer and supplier of the widest ranges of high-quality galvanized rainwater goods, roof sheeting and ceiling products for the plumbing and building industry. They are looking for a qualified Millwright to join their team. JOB DESCRIPTION: The millwright is responsible for installing, transferring, and repairing equipment and machinery. Responsibilities include using specialized tools to build and repair machines and setting up machinery based on highly technical instructions and blueprints and occasionally move machines to different locations. MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: GENERAL Enforce Strict company standards and rules- responsible to make sure that company policies and procedures as well as rules are implemented Report all incidents and irregularities to the production manager TASKS Participating in the preventative maintenance program on all equipment for continuous improvement of all machines. Build new industrial and/or construction machinery Repair broken or defective machine parts, using welding and brazing tools and/or electrical and/or electronic tools. Align equipment by using specialized tools (e.g., micrometer, plumb bobs) Review and follow highly technical and complex machinery manuals Disassemble machine parts when repairing them, and reassemble the parts Collect and store distinct machinery parts Build the foundation for machines. Construct and install equipment such as shafting and conveyors. Review and interpret engineering specifications, schematics, and blueprints to determine work procedures. Grind and file machinery parts. Work with a range of hand tools including measuring tools, welding and brazing equipment, electrical and electronic tools. Determine which machines, techniques, and tools to use when moving equipment and completing jobs. Install stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans using hand and power tools Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts Operate machine tools to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machineries Ensure operating safety devices function properly on completion of repairs, modifications and installations Sharpening and maintaining machine tools Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation Cleaning, lubricating, and performing other routine maintenance work on machineries Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliances Maintain a clean and environmentally safe work area Perform other related duties as assigned Ensure that product quality is up to standard after conducting maintenance or repairs on any production machine. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Matric Millwright qualification trade tested EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: At least 3 years' experience as a qualified Millwright Previous experience in metal manufacturing industry will be advantageous
