This role will report to the New Product Development Manager - Long-Life Foods Job Responsibilities: Developing of new products for existing and new ranges for the Long-Life division. Upgrading of existing products. Conducting factory trials. Identifying appropriate raw materials and suppliers. Liaising effectively with our customers and suppliers. Communicating effectively with the Technical and Production Departments. A preparedness to work extended hours and traveling when necessary will be essential. Our ideal candidate must have: A tertiary qualification in Food Technology or Food Science or related discipline. Ideally 3-5 years of experience in product development of food. An assertive, team spirited, proactive and hands-on approach. Very good communication skills. Excellent planning and organizing skills. Knowledge of competitive marketplace information and trends in the food industry. Understanding of thermal processing. Understanding of Food Safety Management and HACCP principles. A passion for food. Experience in canning will be an advantage. A good track record in the industry. Other attributes would include: Excellent presentation skills. Good administration skills. Good structural approach to problem solving. Dynamic person who will make a difference.
