Our client, an established Flour Mill & Bakery that supplies Western Australia, is looking for a Self-driven leader to take on the key role of PLANT MAINTENANCE MANAGER. The role will report to the Production Manager, will work under general direction of the Mill Manager and will be tasked with ensuring the effective and efficient running of the Byford Mill, near Perth (Western Australia). ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES: Ability and authority to determine work schedules Prioritise work to ensure all tasks are performed within a satisfactory time frame To ensure consistent mill, blending and packing plant operation. Deliver Improvements in maintenance performance and unplanned downtime Advise on capital projects and sustaining capital works. Maintain the Quality and food safety systems (HACCP) records within the areas of responsibilities assigned. Maintain a safe working environment in accordance with current Occupational Safety and Health Legislation. Purchase cost effective materials required for Mill and Production maintenance and associated requirements Organise Contract Labour as required. Formulate maintenance programmes, schedules and rosters. Ensure accurate inventories of all parts and consumables are maintained for areas of responsibilities. Promote a culture of continuous improvement Maintain all plant and equipment in good working order. Maintain a 24 hour state of readiness for maintenance related issues. Develop and manage a maintenance team Maintain a safe work environment in accordance with current Occupational Safety and Health legislation. Co-ordinate Contract Labour in the completion of set projects. Ensure quality control systems are implemented and maintained. Purchase goods and consumables associated with maintenance requirements. An understanding of quality management principles and delivery Sound knowledge of food production theory and practice Sound knowledge of Food Safety (HACCP) principles General knowledge of production procedures Working knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health legislation Knowledge of business principles and experience in areas of quality management systems, customer focus and results driven performance. Experience with a Food based manufacturing plant Experience with the operations of warehouse and distribution centre Ability to liaise with Staff, Management, suppliers and Clients in an effective manner Ability to manage time effectively and work under pressure Ability to develop and improve systems and procedures Ability to make sound and timely decisions in order to meet the business's goals Excellent written and verbal communication skills Sound time management and organisational skills Ability to perform duties under limited supervision Proven ability to set and co-ordinate tasks Sound computer literacy
