Procurement Specialist (minimum of a 6 month contract) - Pietermaritzburg

We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Procurement Specialist who excels in introducing and implementing best practices in procurement within a short timeframe. As a key member of our procurement team, you will play a crucial role in streamlining our purchasing activities to strategically meet the business goals through robust procurement practices. This is a leadership role and therefore requires engagement across the business to achieve ongoing sustainability and compliance to the practices put in place. Direct a skilled team to achieve key performance indicators, foster a high-performance culture, and enhance engagement. You will collaborate across departments to meet strategic goals and positively influence our network of suppliers and business partners. Strategic Sourcing: Spearhead the sourcing process, from identifying potential suppliers to negotiating cost-effective deals. You will be responsible for finding and securing the right products at the right price, ensuring they are delivered to the right place at the right time.This also includes project managing initiatives for stock buys and cost-effective sourcing solutions, including identifying new sourcing countries and alternative materials. Drive projects to successful completion, ensuring they meet our targets and margin requirements. Supplier Development and Management: Establish and nurture strategic supplier relationships to ensure long-term sustainability. Research and onboard new vendors that align with our business goals, and implement improvement plans to boost supplier performance. Analysis and Strategy Implementation: Conduct thorough analysis of our sourcing operations, identify potential risks, and discover new opportunities to enhance efficiency and profitability. Develop and execute a sourcing strategy that aligns with our long-term business objectives. Sustainability and Compliance: Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on procurement policies, procedures, and best practice ensuring alignment with our annual business strategy. Degree or Diploma in Procurement , Sourcing, Clothing Management or related field At least 6 to 8 years in merchandise or manufacturing with 1 to 2 years in a supervisory or management role. MS Dynamics proficient, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to analyze data effectively. Strong knowledge of corporate social responsibility, sustainable practices, fabric technologt, raw materials, and manufacturing processess. Solid gras of merchandise and business processes, market positioning, ability to understand and anticipate customer needs.
