DATA NETWORK CABLES PRODUCT ENGINEER (Design & Development) -– Midrand Experience designing high frequency cables. Qualifications & Experience Degree in Electrical Engineering and specializing in radio frequency (RF) engineering, or other relevant Technical / Engineering fields. Working experience with materials technology relevant to cable manufacture. 4 years of working experience in fields relevant to the requirements of this job description. Working experience in high frequency testing techniques for cables. Experience working in ISO controlled development process. Excellent knowledge of software tools (MS Office and CableBuilder). Working knowledge of IEEE 802 high frequency applications and protocols. Knowledge in European requirements for Construction Product Regulations (CPR), relevant to cables. Detailed knowledge of relevant standards such as ASTM, ANSI, ISO , GMP , ITAR. German advantageous Duties Design and develop balanced twisted pair cables deployed in structured cabling systems for high frequency applications. Design and development of balanced twisted pair cables according to ISO/IEC 11801, EN 50173, ANSI/TIA-568.2-D and customer specific applications. Work with the Sales and Marketing team to relate technical requirements by customers to International standards and propose available products. Coordination of prototype production and prototype deliveries, including First Article Inspection. Coordinate and lead testing and inspection required by Certification Authorities. Participation in international trade shows and conferences. Working with Process Engineering to develop production processes for new products. Technical documentation of products, solutions, and development projects. Design of performance studies, implementation of the experimental tests, and documentation. Act as subject matter expert for specific techniques, processes, and equipment.
