SAAS Business Development Manager (Utilities/Smart Metering) - Johannesburg

The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, fostering strong relationships with potential clients, and promoting our platform. This role calls for a self-driven individual with a profound knowledge of software solutions and target markets.

Responsibilities:
  • Identify and research potential clients in utilities and smart metering.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to meet revenue targets.
  • Maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients.
  • Initiate outreach plans via calls, emails, LinkedIn etc.
  • Present and demonstrate the value of our SaaS platform to potential clients.
  • Manage full sales cycle from lead generation to closure.
  • Prepare and deliver sales proposals, contracts, and presentations.
  • Monitor and report on sales metrics and performance.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of industry trends, market conditions, and competitors.
  • Establish foundation for our African Market expansion.

Requirements:
  • 5-6 years of experience in software sales/implementation, business development, or related role in utilities or smart metering.
  • Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales targets.
  • Proficient understanding of tech solutions with ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Proficient in CRM software and sales tools.
  • Willingness to travel.
