We are currently recruiting for a Safety Officer to join our dynamic team, based in Brits (North West). Legal duties in terms of Reg 2.19.1 and 2.19.2 of the Minerals Act. Conduct workplace inspections and legal compliance audits. Compile daily and monthly Health & Safety reports. Incident / Accident investigations. Risk Management. Emergency Preparedness and Management. Development and review of Safe Operating Procedures. Ensure all incidents and unsafe acts are reported. Provide on the job training. Assess and approve contractors Safety files in accordance with Contractor Management Requirements. Address non-conformances / compliances Follow through on actions, closing out reports. Report and record keeping not negotiable. Present a professional image of the SHERQ Department. Daily / weekly / monthly reports. Medical examinations, follow ups and addressing issues that may arise. PPE control and management. Coordination of Health & Safety Reps functioning. Identification of training needs. Standby duties on rotational basis. Grade 12. Safety Management Diploma will be advantageous. COMSOC 1&2 / SAMTRAC. All MQA unit standards for fully qualified Health and Safety Officer working with combination of MHSA as well as OHSA. MS Excel. At least 3-5 years SHERQ experience in a Process Plant environment.
