Job Purpose: As the Sales and Marketing Manager, you will be the primary liaison between Operations and 3rd Party Distributors, responsible for positioning our business and services in the marketplace to maximize occupancy rates. Your role involves close collaboration with department teams to coordinate efforts in Sales, Reservations, and Operations. Additionally, you will ensure timely deliveries of updated information to 3rd Party Distributors, Consortia, OTA’s, and PCA’s. Key Performance Indicators: Customer-Related: Sales Call reports Successful Complaint Resolution ratio Repeat guest ratio. People-Related: Coaching property employees on selling, up-sell, and cross-sell techniques Process-Related: Completeness of call sheets and supplier contact information. Accuracy and completeness of Supplier Contracts Adherence to Rate and Offering information distribution deadlines. Finance-Related: Occupancy Percentage Average Daily Rate Cost of Distribution Booking status: Tentative to Confirmed ratio. Job Requirements (Essential Level): Ability to anticipate future circumstances, conditions, and requests. Ability to think strategically and tactically. Ability to comprehend and develop and communicate abstract concepts. Ability to correctly communicate detailed information and instruction to others. Operates comfortably in an environment of high levels of ambiguity. Ability to recognize market and revenue concerns. Ability to react quickly and negotiate shrewdly. Degree or equivalent in Hospitality Management/Financial Management. Extensive background in Sales and Marketing. Ability to communicate effectively in English. Job Requirements (Essential) More than 5 years of experience in Sales operations in a luxury 5-Star hotel. OPERA experience essential. High levels of abstract reasoning. Proficiency in digital communication tools. Proficient in the interpretation of Guest Feedback metrics. Proficient in the application of Up-Sell and Cross-Sell strategies. Proficient in property-specific reservations and revenue software. Proficient in the management of various booking channels. Duties and Responsibilities: Effectively utilises software applications and communication tools that are used to facilitate the collection and cataloguing of market information for the purposes of generating sales leads and sales Effectively manages processes and systems that enable Sales to be generated and guests to be comfortably accommodated to the highest standards of the hotel Effectively utilises property management software and tools to monitor the preferences of Hotel Guests and works to produce appropriate Sales and Promotional strategies Ensures that all enquiries are responded to, that accurate quotations are generated and sent to clients within the specified time frame Assists the Sales Executive and Reservations Manager to ensure that all 3rd Party distributors are correctly contracted with the correct commission structures With the Sales Executive and Reservations Manager, ensures that all Revenue Reports, Daily Pick-Up reports, Sales Activity, Strategy Adjustment reports are accurately produced with the specific time frame Takes responsibility for the performance of the Sales and Marketing functions of the hotel Attends trade shows and Sales events to Showcase the Group to the Market With the Director of Sales and Marketing, defines and sets in place the marketing campaigns for the hotel Ensure world-class service is delivered to the Guest, by collaborating with the 3rd Party Distributors on all matters impacting Bookings and the Guest Service provision Together with the relevant teams and specialists, ensures that policies, processes and standards directly affecting the Guests do reflect their safety, security concerns and preferences Takes charge of implementing, and maintaining of processes and systems that ensure the delivery of highly personalised service by the Sales team Assists with the implementation and monitoring of processes and systems that ensure the highest levels of confidentiality and security of information Together with the Human Resources specialists, supports the selection of appropriately competent employees § Ensures that all relevant department employees receive comprehensive training and coaching on Selling and Up/Cross-Selling skills Together with the Management team implements practices and activities to support the continuous development of Sales Department employees Completes feedback and performance appraisals for Direct Reports in time and according to the required standards Supports an environment that contributes to positive employee engagement and commitment to the job Promote and maintain compliance and awareness of health, safety and security issues in accordance with applicable legislation and best practice Working with the Sales Executive and Reservations Manager, ensures that all strategies, policies, processes and standards affecting the Sales and Reservations function are complete and documented to guide and direct activities Takes time to know of, understand, comply with and apply relevant quality related standards policies, processes, rules and procedures Notices and communicates opportunities to further improve quality standards in both the Sales function and the Operations Analyses guest feedback system reports for improvement opportunities and works with Department Teams to implement change to improve feedback metrics With the Sales Executive and Reservations Manager, evaluate performance of distribution partners and rate strategy (OTA, FIT, tour operator, corporate, consortia, crew, groups, etc…) Assist to create and develop pricing strategies that reflect the individuality of each hotel With the Sales Executive and Reservations Manager, assess and analyse group pricing strategies Assist to ensure web site information is maintained up-to-date and functional Regularly check the input and the quality of market data (segmentation, denials tracking, etc.) points Supports best practice standards to include: competitor analysis; environmental scanning; market modelling; distribution yield management; business mix yield management; length of stay yield management; inventory availability by channel; pricing control and new pricing concepts With the Sales Executive and Reservations Manager, perform competitive benchmark studies, follow market trends, and help to create sales strategies to maximise opportunities and mitigate risk Works with Senior Management to propose the annual Revenue budgets for Operation Manages the Cost of Distribution Manages department costs to affect savings where possible without compromising quality and revenue Works to ensure that REVPAR targets are consistently achieved or surpassed Looks for opportunities to prevent damage of equipment and reduce the consumption of stock without affecting quality Works to ensure that Sales, Up/Cross-sell targets are consistently achieved Helps to reduce the cost of distribution by finding new less expensive means of delivering business Helps to ensure that the Sales, and Marketing spaces and facilities are maintained in impeccable and fully functional condition Takes active steps to ensure private, sensitive and confidential information is not accessible to unauthorised persons Ensures a dogmatic application of all safety, security and health measures for the protection of residents and guests Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews. voco, The Bank, and Valor Hospitality Partners are equal opportunity employers.
