Pie in the Sky Bakery is a fast-growing family-run, FSA accredited wholesale bakery located in Cape Town, South Africa. We serve the retail, food service, and hospitality industry, as well as regional and national distributors. Our specialty lies in artisan breads, rolls, and buns, as well as a range of pastries, doughnuts, and confectionery products. We offer a unique line of frozen thaw and serve, parbaked, and convenience products, providing simplicity and high-quality consistency to our customers. Purpose of Role: Develop, manage and refine the commercial, marketing and associated customer services-oriented functionalities in order to optimise Pie in the Sky market presence, sales to targeted customers and customer segments and inform the further development of products and their competitive positioning to capture market share as well as achieve a high degree of segment and large customer penetration. Monitor and engage other responsible functions in the supply chain to achieve benchmark levels of order fulfilment and customer satisfaction. Balance private label baked products with branded products, as well as develop brand clarity and presence at all interfaces with customers/consumers to the extent that consumers "know" Pie in the Sky products. Develop the sales funnel and its supporting functionalities and ensure a high predictive probability of sales to guide business budgeting and sales aligned development of products production, delivery and support capacity. Customer Service Minimum requirements: A business oriented (marketing, business management, etc.) tertiary degree from a recognised institution, complemented by at least 3 years sales and marketing experience, of which 1 year at a junior managerial level running a small function of part of a larger sales and marketing function - preferably mostly gained in a foods manufacturing (ideally baking) business Exposure to sophisticated branding and communications using modern means of delivery and accessibility will be an advantage.
