The newly revamped Hollywoodbets Cape Racing, Kenilworth racing venue has an exciting role available We are looking to hire a suitably qualified and experienced Sales Coordinator to join our passionate and dedicated Marketing and Events Team. The ideal incumbent should be outgoing, professional, resourceful and proactive. The Sales Coordinator's primary responsibility will be to grow the Cape Racing brand. The Sales Coordinator will develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve targets, and focus on building lasting client relationships for long-term profitability. The Sales Coordinator will be required to secure new clients, event proposals and retain existing clients. The Sales Coordinator will have exceptional communication skills and be able to address a wide variety of audiences efficiently and effectively. The Sales Coordinator will report to the Conference and Functions Manager. Key Responsibilities Driving New Business and Client Retention Drive new business, generate leads and retain existing clients Generate new ideas and technical innovation that improve the generation of new business Initiate and organise sales meetings with clients to assist with operational questions and ideas Prospecting for new business opportunities by making telephonic contact, cold calling and site visits Gather market intelligence/ information regarding new business opportunities Present formal business proposals Achieve agreed sales targets Prepare and submit weekly new business reports Prepare recommended proposals for the Conference and Functions Manager's approval Customer Relationship Management Handle client enquires, queries and problems and facilitate resolutions Conduct monthly and/ or weekly service call visitations Identify and capitalise on service / sale extension opportunities Build client relationships at all levels Manage and negotiate contracts and/ or service level agreements Budgeting and Financial Management Generate quotations for services for customers Generate invoices for services render for customers Manage costs against approved budget Investigate methods to reduce/contain costs Assist in producing financial forecasting and billing Ensure that there is control of department spend and reconciliation Obtain quotations to procure goods and services Ensure that all Race Day transactions are accounted for, cashed up and securely stored Event Planning and Coordination Attend and prepare for team meetings with event team on new business developments and related matters Develop general event management procedures Procure items for events Confirm internal teams and services for events Ensure that all event documents and paperwork is accurate and in place e.g. delivery schedules, staff briefing sheets etc. Make sure that staff and work personnel at events adhere to management policies Able to work Monday to Thursday and weekends (Race Days i.e. Saturdays and Sundays) Ad hoc tasks as required Key Competencies/ Attributes Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) Able to present information clearly and concisely Excellent organisational and time management skills Able to listen actively Exceptional knowledge for the event planning industry and product knowledge Able to upsell and close Prospecting analysis Strategic thinking Target driven Customer relations management Excellent problem-solving skills Observant, with exceptional attention to detail Mastery in delegating and managing multiple tasks Driven with the ability to take own initiative Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines Event and project management skills A team player who is punctual and well groomed Flexibility and adaptability to juggle a range of different tasks Demonstrate tact, diplomacy, maturity, and professionalism when dealing with all stakeholders, both internally and externally Required Experience At least five years of proven experience in a similar role is essential Three to five years of proven sales experience is essential Relevant experience in the gaming and/or hospitality sector is advantageous Required Qualification(s) Matric/ Grade 12 is required A diploma or degree in Events Management, Hospitality, Commerce (NQF level 6 or NQF level 7) or similar is required Apply Now
