The Pre-Sales Division Manager is responsible for overseeing and aligning the Pre-Sales Division's strategies with business objectives. Key duties include expanding the Professional Services sector to generate short-term revenue, developing workflows for streamlined PS revenue reporting, and enhancing communication between Pre-Sales Engineers (PSEs) and sales teams. The role also involves facilitating cross-skilling initiatives, re-evaluating Head-cost/Brand Billing ratios, and aligning skill certifications with vendor expectations to establish learning pathways for PSEs. The manager will focus on ensuring PSEs are IT Specialists within their technology realm and will be involved in onboarding processes. Responsibilities include refining the Pre-Sales budget, implementing systems to monitor PSE activities, providing mentorship, fostering vendor relationships, and leading the technical team. Collaboration with senior management to define business development strategies, evaluating market trends, and representing the organization at industry events are crucial aspects of the role. The manager will promote a culture of innovation, ensure compliance with industry standards, and champion best practices in pre-sales methodologies to drive operational excellence and customer satisfaction. KPA & PERFORMANCE STANDARDS Manage the Pre-Sales Division Oversee the Pre-Sales Division. Align Pre-Sales strategies with business objectives. Strategically expand the Professional Services (PS) sector to achieve revenue generation in the short term, optimizing return on investment. Develop and implement administrative workflows to streamline PS revenue reporting within the Pre-Sales department, including performance metrics for Pre-Sales Engineers. Enhance communication channels between PSEs and sales teams. Facilitate cross-skilling initiatives to enhance operational efficiencies within the PSE team. Re-evaluate and establish Head-cost/Brand Billing ratios with greater accuracy. Assess and align skill certifications and accreditations with vendor expectations, establishing structured learning and development pathways for PSEs to achieve expert-level proficiency aligned with PS priorities. Renewed focus on PSE's being IT Specialists within their technology realm (not Brand), as opposed to being IT Generalists. Be proactively involved in the onboarding process. Redevelop and refine the Pre-Sales budget. Develop, implement and manage system/s to monitor, track and manage PSE activity, schedules, communications, planning, training/development and accountability. Provide mentorship and guidance to team members. Foster and manage vendor relationships. Lead and supervise the technical team. Collaborate with senior management to define and execute business development strategies aligned with organizational goals. Continuously evaluate market trends and customer feedback to refine and enhance pre-sales offerings. Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and seminars to strengthen brand presence and cultivate business opportunities. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the Pre-Sales Division. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in all pre-sales activities. Understand vendor and reseller expectations. Champion best practices in pre-sales methodologies and processes to drive operational excellence and customer satisfaction. Minimum Qualifications : Matric Certificate IT Diploma Minimum Experience: 10 - 15 years of Technical Background (predominately Cloud and Datacentre) experience. Enterprise IT/Infrastructure System software/Infrastructure 5 – 6 Technical Team lead experience. Business Background and Financial Planning (Budgets / Income Statements) Vendor Relationships. Service Orientated Sales experience (preferred) Physical Requirements: Private vehicle available for business travel and willing to drive to meetings as needed. Office Requirements: Office-based working environment. Semi-formal dress code. Working hours are from 08:00 – 17:00.
