Senior Accountant - South Africa
This is an exciting opportunity for a SAIPA qualified individual who has worked in the manufacturing and/or imports / exports industry. The are a manufacturer of drinks ranging from wine and juices. If this appeals to you and you have the necessary skills, please don't delay in applying!
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for accounting processes
- VAT calculations, reconciliations and submissions to SARS
- Prepare monthly and annual accounts and final trial balances ready for management accounts and financial statements
- Prepare and finalize financial statements and necessary disclosures and presentations in terms of International Financial Reporting Standards for SMEs
- Assist with Provisional Tax Computations
- Manage Treasury process according to cash flow requirements of the business
- Initiate and drive financial function, not only from financial reporting perspective, but also from an operational perspective, ensure relevant duties are designed, designated and carried out to ensure financial function is running smoothly
- Collaborate with auditors and assist with the audit process from accounting perspective
- Mentor and train the Finance team
- Support the Group Financial Manager with any tasks as required
Requirements:
- Minimum qualification B Com Financial Accounting (SAIPA Articles preferred)
- Minimum of 2 to 5 years' commercial experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Must have working knowledge of Xero - cloud-based accounting, with advanced MS Excel skills
- Knowledge of Income tax computations and processes, good it skills
