Responsibility for looking after the accounting processes VAT calculations, reconciliations and submissions to SARS Preparation of monthly and annual accounts and prepping final trial balances ready for preparing management accounts and financial statements Preparation and finalisation of financial statements and the necessary disclosures and presentations in terms of International Financial Reporting Standards for SMEs. Assisting with Provisional Tax Computations Managing the Treasury process according to the cash flow requirements of the business Initiator and driver of the financial function, not only from a financial reporting perspective, but also from an operational perspective ensuring that relevant duties are designed, designated and carried out to ensure the financial function is running smoothly in the business Collaborating with auditors and assisting with the audit process from an accounting perspective Very good business acumen to identify and bring on more simpler processes that are more efficient to the business Mentor and train the Finance team Support the Group Financial Manager with any tasks as required Qualifications and Experience B Com Financial Accounting essential SAIPA articles preferable 2 to 5 years' commercial experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment Working knowledge of Xero - cloud-based accounting package, or other similar accounting package Advanced MS Excel skills Knowledge of Income tax computations and processes A flair for IT systems preferable Additional Competencies: • Ability to interface with people at different levels in the business • Effective and efficient communication skills • Self-disciplined and requires no to little guidance in executing tasks • Ability to multi-task essential • Efficient time management skills • Works according to deadlines • Real attention to detail • System process oriented and has regard for internal processes, at the same time showing flexibility and agility • Proven experience managing, mentoring and training a Finance team • Ability to work in a team and independently Commensurate with qualifications and experience: R35-45k pm CTC Medical Aid – optional, part of CTC Pension Fund – After completion of 3 month's probationary period Annual Bonus - At the company's discretion and performance related Annual leave – 15 days Based in office 4 days per week, 1 day flexible
