JOB OVERVIEW Business Segment: Corporate & Investment Banking Location: ZA, GP, Johannesburg, Baker Street 30 Job Type: Full-time Job ID: 60051940_80361243 Date Posted: 6/13/2023 JOB DESCRIPTION To drive and manage Product Management related to Payments for Transactional Products and Services (TxB), which includes the day-to-day operational management, product digitisation, and team performance, through coordinating, influence and driving the value chain to deliver the Product capability within defined risk parameters, regulatory requirements and client expectations, in support of the execution and realisation of TPTxB business strategy. JOB FUNCTIONS Collaborate and engage technology, legal and compliance experts, related to payments offerings, in all theAfrican countries, ensuring compliance to each country specific regulations, legislative implications, to ensure that all products comply and the adjustments and country specific requirements are timeously executed to ensure operational and cost effective management, to safeguards the Bank. Conduct and drive continuous research and development related to the payment landscape, investigating industry movements, changes and developments on a national and international level, to assess, analyse and interpret information, to derive achievable and technology advanced offerings and products, taking simplification and efficiency into consideration at all times. Develop, scope, implement and drive operational and tactical plans translated from TPS Strategic plans and target and collaborate with the other Product Owners, to reveiw and integrate multiple offerings, focused on future digital strategies, directing the focus of the business. Develop and/or support a robust and commercially viable approach to the payments domain strategies including remittances, Region and its countries. Provides input on payment systems strategic direction as guided by the TxB Africa Regions Growth Markets strategic intent, taking into consideration specific regulatory and industry involvement where necessary and/or guiding the in-country teams on interbank engagements Recommended best practice payment structures that support industry, regulator and bank engagement Drive and deliver the TxB AR Growth Markets agreed priority projects through the SAFe methodology including but not limited to industry projects (regulatory) and Standard Bank initiatives Drive and ensure that Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principals and practices, incorporating aspects of software engineering and apply it to infrastructure and operations problems, to create scalable and highly reliable software systems across all products in the group and country specific Select appropriate functional professionals, capable of providing the essential support required for the countries to succeed. Provide thought and SME leadership across all segments Works with Learning & Development (L&D) to produce specialised training material around payment system theory, including two-sided markets and interchange models, industry and regulator lobbying and negotiation skills; conduct and support payments training workshops, in line with TxB Skills Hub Drive and manage day-to-day, operational and process engineering developments, ensuring compliance and risk are effectively managed, formulating and implementing processes, procedures and system enhancements in order to mitigate risk, thus safeguarding the Bank, TPS and customers. Drive ISO 20022 compliance and strategy, within Payments, TPS, ensuring proper adoption, integration, frontend and client enablement policies, processes, procedures and system, developed, implemented and improved QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Qualifications Type of Qualification: First Degree Field of Study: Banking Requirements Broadening the scope from AR to Group Updating the various naming conventions (CNHW, etc,) Adding a section which talks to owning and managing ongoing risks across the value chain (as opposed to just when new products are launched) in collaboration with the respective country product managers and enabling functions Experience Required Macro Generic Global Markets Cash Liquidity Management 1-2 years Advanced to expert understanding of BASEL 3 liquidity risk requirements 5-7 years A track record of growing leadership responsibilities with a demonstrated ability to lead and influence without formal reporting lines, and the ability to engage with internal stakeholders at senior levels. 8-10 years Advanced to expert background and knowledge in risk management strategies.
