Head of Finance Job Description: The Head of Finance will oversee all financial operations, reporting, and compliance activities for the company's operations in South Africa and across multiple African countries. This role requires a strategic finance leader with extensive experience in financial management, budgeting, forecasting, regulatory compliance, accounting software implementation, and managing relationships with Payment Service Providers (PSPs). Responsibilities: 1. Develop and implement financial strategies to support business growth and expansion plans in South Africa and other African countries. 2. Manage the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes for each country, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and local market dynamics. 3. Set up and maintain accounting systems, including Xero, Sage, or MS Dynamics, to standardize financial reporting and streamline accounting processes across all locations. 4. Lead the implementation of accounting software solutions, working closely with IT and finance teams to ensure system integration and data integrity. 5. Manage cash flow, working capital, and capital expenditure for each country to optimize financial performance and liquidity. 6. Establish and maintain strong relationships with Payment Service Providers (PSPs), banking partners, investors, and regulatory authorities in each country. 7. Coordinate with PSPs to facilitate payment processing and reconciliation, ensuring timely and accurate transactions. 8. Monitor and analyze financial performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations to senior management and the board of directors. 9. Ensure compliance with local financial regulations and tax requirements in each country of operation. 10. Oversee financial reporting and analysis, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. 11. Implement robust internal controls and risk management processes to safeguard company assets and minimize financial risks. 12. Provide leadership and mentorship to finance teams in each country, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. 13. Drive initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in financial operations, leveraging technology and best practices. Specifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA, CFA, or equivalent certification preferred. Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position. Extensive knowledge of financial management principles, practices, and regulations. Experience in implementing and managing accounting software systems, such as Xero, Sage, or MS Dynamics. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams and cultures.
