Responsibilities: As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for developing innovative concepts, prototypes, designs, and drawings for automotive accessories, ensuring that these parts are ready for manufacturing. You will create and test new product designs, formulate manufacturing specifications, and conduct comprehensive product research to meet both functional and aesthetic requirements. Utilizing CAD 3D software, you will create designs and fabricate models for testing, as well as conduct FEA analysis using specialized software. Your role will involve researching and analyzing various materials, manufacturing processes, design tolerances, and other factors critical to the development process. You will conduct testing using both internal and external resources to meet customer-specific requirements. After refining and reviewing initial designs, you will deliver detailed specifications and procedures to manufacturing teams to ensure successful production. Efficiency in meeting strategic goals and satisfying customer requirements is paramount. You will manage the design project team, ensuring project objectives, milestones, and timeframes are met. Effective communication during product handovers to production will be essential to relay all critical characteristics and quality information. Your responsibilities will also include new product development to meet customer specifications and comply with both internal and external system requirements within agreed timelines. Duties: You will engage in Product Engineering, Process Engineering, Project Management, and Problem Investigation, ensuring compliance with safety, health, and environmental management programs (ISO14001). You will facilitate improvement programs to address identified risks and implement robust 5S systems within the workplace. Managing and implementing Maintenance Quality Assurance systems, improving departmental awareness of Quality Targets and Objectives, and ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 standards are part of your quality management duties. You will initiate and develop product development procedures, protocols, and work instructions, manage relationships with key customers and suppliers, and identify opportunities for improvement. Your role will also involve providing input into the budget process for Capex spend and promoting good Corporate Governance. To thrive in this role, you should have a Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least five years of relevant work experience. Your expertise should include knowledge and experience with IATF core tools and proficiency in Microsoft Office and 3D CAD modeling software. A solid understanding of basic manufacturing processes such as CNC Tube & Plate Bending, Laser Cutting, and Robotics (welding, plasma cutting, polishing) is essential.
