An African Independent Power Producer is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join their technical team. This role involves overseeing the construction and operations of renewable energy projects across South Africa, Botswana, eSwatini, and Namibia. With a proven track record of delivering 600MW in projects and a pipeline of over 200MW set to begin construction this year, this position offers a unique opportunity for an experienced engineer to play a critical role in the growth of the company's renewable energy portfolio. Technical Coordination: Oversee the technical aspects of the construction and operation of renewable energy power plants, ensuring all activities are carried out to the highest standards. Compliance Assurance: Ensure all projects adhere to Grid Code regulations, maintaining compliance throughout the project lifecycle. Project Development: Lead the development of utility-scale Wind, Solar, and Battery Energy Storage projects, from inception through to completion. Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyze the performance of operational plants, identifying trends and areas for improvement. Fault Analysis: Conduct detailed analyses of fault trends to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions. Reporting: Prepare detailed technical and performance reports for presentation to the Executive Committee and Board of Directors. Optimization Studies: Lead studies focused on optimizing plant performance, exploring innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and output. Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT): Conduct equipment Factory Acceptance Tests to ensure all components meet required specifications and standards. Collaboration: Work closely with site supervisors, EPC contractors, and O&M operators to ensure seamless project execution and ongoing operations. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's degree in Electrical . Extensive experience in utility-scale solar and/or wind projects, with a proven track record of hands-on involvement in project construction and operations. Strong understanding of Grid Code regulations and compliance requirements. Demonstrated ability to analyze plant performance and conduct fault trend analyses. Excellent communication and report-writing skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly and concisely. Experience in conducting Factory Acceptance Tests and working closely with EPC contractors and O&M operators.
