Robert Walters South Africa As a valued member of the Property Division within this wealth management giant, your main responsibilities in this role will include maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring accurate record-keeping, managing financial accounting processes, conducting analysis, budgeting, reporting and meeting all corporate accounting requirements. The Senior Property Accountant position calls for a confident and self-motivated individual who excels at ensuring the continuous implementation of operational standards and controls. In addition, strong technical skills as well as the ability to work under pressure in a demanding and fast-paced environment are essential for this role. Key qualifications and experience required for the Senior Property Accountant: Fully Qualified CA(SA) 5 - 7 years' post qualified experience Completed articles at a reputable audit firm is essential Proven track record of working in the property investment sector In-depth knowledge of corporate tax laws and regulatory requirements Good working knowledge of Accounting Packages (Sage X3, Oracle, Caseware, MDA) Experience in the fund management industry would be advantageous Key duties of the Senior Property Accountant: Ensure company complies with JSE listing requirements Maintain relationships with the CSDP, monitor shareholder register and submit reports to executives Ensure lease data is correctly loaded on MDA for proper revenue and recoveries accounting Maintain budget and forecast for both revenue expenditures and capital budget Prepare reports based on multi-currency scenarios and recommend management of currency risk through different exposures Ensure compliance with applicable accounting and corporate policies Monitor month-end close and preparation of month-end management accounts Interact with external auditors at time of audit Key personal skills: Demonstrates integrity and professionalism Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills Thrives in high-pressure environments and meets tight deadlines Possesses a results-driven mindset and showcases technical expertise Displays intelligence and adaptability in tackling challenges If you are a dynamic CA(SA), looking to join a high performing team in a role that involves diverse responsibilities in finance and accounting, we encourage you to get in touch for a discussion about this position.
