Merchant West lending products extend to bespoke asset finance (across an extensive range of asset classes), fleet finance, working capital funding, property finance solutions and specialised finance. Merchant West advisory products extend to investment strategies, private wealth management and treasury solutions. Provide transaction and middle office support to ensure smooth operations and efficient presentation and execution of debt financing transactions. Conduct market research, financial modelling, and feasibility analysis. Conduct initial credit, financial and data analysis to support decision making process. Prepare external presentations, internal credit papers, external credit information, data analysis, and financial analysis to support decision-making processes. Present transactions to the deal forum and the Merchant West Credit Committee, under the guidance of the Senior Structured Solutions Transactor. Maintain CRM with details of meetings, relevant opportunities and action items. Review and prepare accurate and timely internal reporting, as defined or required from time to time. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as front office teams, risk management, finance, legal, and compliance, to ensure effective communication and coordination throughout the transaction lifecycle. Maintain a thorough understanding of industry trends, market conditions and client dynamics. Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to improve operational efficiency. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, to ensure smooth transaction execution and relationship development. Degree-educated with strong academic results and financial background (essential). CA (SA) newly qualified or CFA Level 3 (preferable). Familiar with financial statement analysis, financial modelling, stakeholder management and communications(essential). Exceptional communication both written and spoken (essential). Proficient in Microsoft Excel (essential). National Credit Act, JSE listing requirements, securitisation regulations, secured and unsecured borrowing and lending agreements (beneficial). Audit experience in financial institutions team (“FIST”) (beneficial). Personal interest in and passion for financial markets (beneficial). Two-years experience in a similar role (beneficial).
