SENTECH is looking for OSS / BSS Specialist who will be responsible for gathering, design, development, specification, procurement and implementation of all OSS / BSS systems and solutions required for Broadband products and networks required by the company to serve its client base. The incumbent will further define the OSS / BSS ecosystem of solutions for the organisation and be overall responsible for drafting design, implementation, management, and operational guidelines for the OSS / BSS ecosystem as well as continuous optimisation and customisation and high-level operational support of OSS / BSS systems required in the Broadband Connectivity and Digital Solutions domain. ● Plan, Design, implement and optimize OSS/BSS solutions for broadband networks. ● Gathering and analysis information from business stakeholders ● Provide high-level support on OSS/BSS systems. ● Willingness to work after hours and weekends. ● Develop, review and update documentation, processes and procedures. ● Keep abreast of the latest technologies and assist in aligning designs, optimizations and planning with the strategy. ● Test new technologies and solutions. ● Contribute to the evaluation, selection, and integration of third-party products and technologies. ● Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand customer requirements and ensure solutions align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. ● Ensure that OSS / BSS systems are scalable, resilient, and cost-effective. ● Ensure availability of network performance reports periodically ● Ensure real-time visibility of system through user portals ● Maintain detailed documentation of configurations and system specifications Qualifications: ● Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications/Electronic Engineering or equivalent. ● Industry and vendor specific certifications and training. Experience: ● 5 years relevant experience in the telecommunications industry of which at least 3 years were at an Internet Service Provider (ISP) in a OSS / BSS technology or operations function ● Experience in OSS / BSS system design, specification, operation and optimisation ● Experience with eTOM ● Experience in design and integration of telecom OSS solutions related to CRM, FCAPS, orchestration, provisioning and activation ● Experience in software engineering and architecture ● Experience in TCP/IP, SNMP and telemetry ● Experience in automation, software development, Python, and Billing system experience is an advantage ● Competence in Microsoft Windows, Linux/UNIX/BSD operating systems and Microsoft Office ● Understanding of end-to-end network architecture in heterogeneous access networks. ● Good working knowledge of Enterprise Architecture methodologies such as TOGAF or equivalent. ● Understanding of broadband technologies, including fibre-optic networks, microwave point-to-point and point-to-multipoint networks, broadband core, distribution and access networks. ● Understanding of network architecture, protocols, and security measures. ● Understanding of ISP regulatory requirements in South Africa. ● Understanding of the broadband industry standards and best practices SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES: ● Leading Courageously ● Leading in a VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, complex and ambiguous), world ● Customer and Commercial Insight ● Conflict Management ● Critical and Innovative thinking ● Direction Setting (Vision and Strategy) ● People management ● Performance management ● Programme/ Project Management ● Quality Assurance and Risk Management ● System Thinking ● Design Thinking BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES: ● Change Leadership ● Compliance ● Relationship Management ● Financial Awareness ● Safety, Health and Environmental Knowledge ● Planning organising ● Organisational Understanding ● Emotional intelligence ● Attention to detail ● Integrity and Professionalism ● Judgement and Decision-Making ● Learning Agility ● Organisation Resilience ● Risk Management ● Strategic Thinking and Agility ● Analytical Thinking If you are interested and meet the required criteria as described above, please send your CV on/or before 20 July 2024 Appointment will be done in accordance with Employment Equity Plan of the organisation.
