Our client, a leading international contractor for the energy industry, is looking for a Steel Structure Inspector to join their team in the Netherlands for a 10 month contract. The main purpose of the role is to monitor the construction quality-assurance/quality-control (QA/QC) programmes, and conduct detailed audits to assess the level of compliance with the QA systems, procedures, and related-quality activities. Monitor and audit the quality control (QC) activities, set forth in the QA programme, to confirm that products or services provided are in accordance with client quality requirements. The successful individual will be responsible for all of QA/QC Steel Structure related activities. Check and review the IFC drawings, the plans & specifications for the proper construction & quality implementation at job site, perform pre-inspection to ensure that all installed materials are within the standard in conformance to applicable drawings & specifications, ; render monitoring and surveillance to control the quality of work being implemented by the Construction Group, either at the workshop either at site during fabrication; or final inspection with owner's representative prior and after erection of steel structure at site as per inspection and testing procedures (I.T.P.). Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following: Thorough review of IFC drawings for steel structure fabrication and erection and understanding of requirements; check and ensure the latest revisions are available at the workshop or at site during the execution of the activities. Checks and reviews the plans and specifications for the proper construction and quality implementation at job site, perform pre-inspection to ensure that all installed materials are within the standard in conformance to applicable drawings and specs. Perform various checks and inspections during fabrication and erection activities as required and in line with the Inspection Test Plan, Project Specifications, applicable standards and requirements, and report inspection and test results to management and other relevant parties, such as the contractors and engineers. Maintain a detailed record of every inspection result and any alteration made to any structure. Provide technical assistance to the engineering and maintenance department whenever consulted. Participates in the development of quality control reports and procedures as requested by the Construction QA/QC Manager. Produces activity reports as necessary to ensure that all QC activities have been fulfilled. Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate. Complies with the highest level of safety during all stages of project execution to avoid any type of incidents and or accidents. Take reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others in the workplace. Make sure the activities are conducted in strict respect of the Health and Safety project requirements and other HSE applicable standards. Monitor the construction activities against the contractual work schedule and in line with the project milestones and reports to its hierarchy accordingly. REQUIREMENTS: Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering AWS CWI, CSWIP SWI or approved equivalent qualifications will be advantageous ISO 9001 training is advantageous Previous experience in inspection of steel structure fabrication & erection. At least 8-10 years of related work experience in the field of quality assurance and quality control, including 3-5 years' experience in quality management of construction projects. Preferred experience in both local & international projects. Requires extensive knowledge of quality assurance/quality control management practices, processes and current technology. Requires proficiency in the use of computers and software packages related to field. Requires proven experience in directing and implementing quality management systems and standards specified by ISO 9000, ASME, ANSI, ASTM and similar organizations. Requires excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to, conduct presentations to management, and interface effectively with a diverse group of professionals. Good knowledge of quality control programme requirements and special process / test techniques required. Working knowledge of codes, construction sequencing, scheduling, safety regulations and engineering drawing knowledge. Detail orientated and methodical, willingness to be a focal point within the limit of the role. Good communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, planning and organizing ability, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, adaptability and stress tolerance. Must be a Team Member, Leader and a Team player with leadership, motivation and technical skills; People management attitude; No conflict attitude; No blame attitude. Experience in Welding & NDT (related to steel structure fabrication activities) is a plus. Fluent in English (read, write, and speak) Valid passport Willing and able to work lengthy rotations
