Wealth and Investments 4. Retail 5. Telecommunication Role Description: The Senior Technical Product Owner for digital products and channels lives and breathes their products. This includes the client App, WhatsApp channels in each territory, alignment with Marketing Automation and the Member Data Platform and new products and channels aligned to the global business strategy. They own the prioritisation, planning, execution, project management and measurement of these key digital channels, ensuring digital engagement becomes a significant differentiator for the organization in the market. Success means these digital products and channels are a reason members choose our services over competitors. This highly motivated and experienced Technical Product Owner will ensure the digital products achieve their objectives: enabling members to achieve their goals, engage with the full value proposition, and get rewarded through the loyalty program. This role will see you collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and manage our product backlog, ensuring we deliver a best-in-class product. Working collaboratively with technical teams, external suppliers, marketing, and operations, you will translate our business objectives into a product roadmap and be responsible for its end-to-end features. About the Company and role: The client has a group structure as well as an SA structure, the role will operate across both businesses, based in Cape Town. Importantly someone who is hungry for an opportunity (not too senior) Looking for someone who can show actual examples and demonstrate delivery of digital programmes, not only being part of the eco system, but intricately involved end to end. Duties & Responsibilities: Translate business strategy and core objectives into world-class digital products and channels. Define product features required to deliver business objectives. Manage the product backlog and prioritize development requirements. Manage delivery through IT teams and external suppliers; act as the key point of contact for these teams. Serve as the key escalation point for digital product issues. Monitor product performance and continuously optimize features to drive user engagement. Collaborate with the Global Chief of Customer Value and global teams including IT, external suppliers, marketing, and operations to deliver high-quality products, features, and services for our customers, meeting our business goals. Work closely with customers and teams in each market to understand their needs and gather feedback on product features, establishing a global standard while allowing for local requirements. Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities for product improvement and differentiation. Define and prioritize product features and requirements to increase revenue, CLV, drive product adoption, and reduce churn. Closely align with the Head of Loyalty to deliver key customer benefits through the app. Develop and maintain the product backlog that aligns with the product roadmap and company's vision and strategy. Manage the product development lifecycle from ideation to launch, including product planning, testing, and release. Manage key supplier relationships, including budgets. Monitor product performance and make data-driven decisions to optimize features and drive user engagement. Leverage data insights to deeply understand member behaviours and patterns to better inform business retention and CLV initiatives. Communicate product vision, status, and measures of success to all stakeholders. Continuously assess and improve product processes to maximize efficiency and effectiveness. Engage with marketing relating to CRM and other customer channels (email, SMS, social, and paid media). Establish measures of success for the product and report against these. Responsible for key product metrics: app downloads, usage, and ratings. Technical Responsibilities: Have a strong understanding of APIs, their design, and integration, ensuring seamless connectivity between various systems. Understand the technical stack and infrastructure of the digital products, ensuring scalability, security, and performance. Collaborate with technical teams to ensure robust and scalable product architecture. Stay updated with the latest technology trends and best practices to continuously improve the product. Address technical challenges and provide guidance on technical solutions. Manage and oversee technical aspects of the product development lifecycle, including infrastructure setup, deployment processes, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines. Requirements: Have a strong understanding of APIs, their design, and integration, ensuring seamless connectivity between various systems. Understand the technical stack and infrastructure of the digital products, ensuring scalability, security, and performance. Collaborate with technical teams to ensure robust and scalable product architecture. Stay updated with the latest technology trends and best practices to continuously improve the product. Address technical challenges and provide guidance on technical solutions. Manage and oversee technical aspects of the product development lifecycle, including infrastructure setup, deployment processes, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines. Required Experience: Technical acumen and genuine passion for technology Understanding of core concepts related to UI/UX design. Experience with product management tools such as JIRA, Confluence Advantageous: experience in delivery of loyalty value propositions within specific digital channels Project Management skills and experience is an advantage. Ability to lead cross-functional stakeholders on new processes and ways of working to improve efficiencies. Ability to execute in the short-term while simultaneously thinking long-term.
