Key Functional Responsibilities Driver Management Develop and manage driver schedules. Ensure effective training of all related procedures and expectations to drivers. Ensure driver certification compliance Monitor and record driver performance Implement and manage performance objectives of all drivers and implement corrective actions Co-ordinate driver payroll queries. Ensure driver leave and sick leave is accurately recorded Supervisor Management and feedback Plan and compile Supervisor shift roster. Ensure effective training of all related procedures and expectations to supervisors. Implement and manage performance objectives of all supervisors and implement corrective actions Conduct weekly supervisor meetings. Mentor and coach transport supervisors. Manage supervisors to co-ordinate the fulfilment function to the delivery schedule. Compiling and submitting of reports Ensure accurate and timely recording of km's travelled, Fridge Hours, Driver hours and DA hours. Ensure daily and weekly fuel recons are completed and fuel related queries are resolved. Ensure daily, weekly and monthly transport plans are compiled and communicated Ensure all incidents and accidents are investigated and reported according to procedure. Prepare transport department payroll input. Monitor and report on on-time performance. Compile the required KPI's accurately. Monitor and report on driver performance Prepare operational reports for management and budgetary purposes Budget and efficiencies control Ensure that all transport related expenses are properly authorized. Monitor and manage truck maintenance cpk. Provide month end summary data for financial purposes. Evaluate budget based on strategic planning. Monitor extra costs and identify reasons. Ensure optimising of resources. Ensure quality and health and safety standards are met Ensure timely corrective action is taken to address service level, cost, quality and health and safety issues. Inspect completed jobs for quality assurance. Ensure health and safety compliance inline with DQSP guidelines. Adapt delivery schedule Continually assess and adapt delivery schedule to ensure the most efficient schedule is in place at all times. Responsible for fleet utilisation management Ensure fleet kms are balanced. Continually assess and adapt delivery schedule to ensure the most efficient schedule is in place at all times. Responsible for fleet utilisation management Ensure fleet kms are balanced. Training and development for the transport department Manage training and development plan for drivers and supervisors. Co-ordinate on the job training for all transport staff. Problem solving Resolve daily delivery issues. Pallet / Trolley control. Drivers hours worked per week. Variable cost management. Stock losses. Safety and process compliance. People scores.
