Yard Supervisor (Steelpoort) - Steelpoort

Purpose of Job:

As the Workshop Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our workshop. Your responsibilities will include overseeing workshop employees, maintaining cleanliness, planning and executing vehicle routes, and handling various fitments and maintenance tasks. You'll be a key player in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of our workshop operations.

Key Performance Areas:

1. Daily Operations Management:

  • Ensure all deliveries and collections are completed daily.

  • Maintain job card registers and complete all job cards promptly.

  • Standby for breakdowns and provide assistance as needed.

  • Drive continuous improvement in daily work processes for yourself and the workshop team.

2. Financial Responsibilities:

  • Manage workshop activities effectively and efficiently.

  • Supervise workshop activities in line with standard operating procedures (SOPs).

  • Ensure completion of call-out sheets and daily duties at the highest standard.

3. Customer Satisfaction:

  • Ensure customer satisfaction with wheels and fitments.

  • Provide outstanding customer service within SOP parameters.

  • Assist in resolving customer queries promptly and effectively.

4. Operational Excellence:

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

  • Drive implementation of SOPs to minimize stock losses.

  • Oversee inventory control and management, including stock counts.

  • Complete job cards accurately and promptly.

  • Assist with passenger and forklift fitments, loading, and offloading.

  • Support counter operations as needed.

  • Maintain tools and equipment in good condition.

  • Assist with packing and branding of tires.

  • Standby for weekly maintenance and breakdowns.

  • Perform general duties as required.

Minimum Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent

Competencies Required:

  • Strong knowledge of stores and distribution procedures.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Familiarity with Sage Evolution (in progress) and ATT/AMS systems.

  • Business acumen with a focus on tire knowledge.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and general PC skills.

Skills:

  • Coaching and mentoring abilities.

  • Problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with strong time and organizational management.

  • Research skills to stay updated on industry trends.
