A well-established organisation is looking for an Accountant. The main purpose of the role is to supervise the financial reporting systems and ensure that the financial systems are accurate and inline with the company policies and procedures. Your key responsibilities will include, but is not limited to: Supervise the financial reporting systems, and accurately report on all financial activities and adjustments between budgetary targets. Maintain and update the financial administration systems, while implementing accurate internal controls that are in line with the comprehensive policies and procedures of the company. Establish and optimize a robust budgeting framework that contributes significantly to the preparation of the monthly accounts that one has to manage, as well as to provide the annual financial statements, and facilitating audit processes to ensure compliance and financial soundness. Collaborate closely with the Financial Manager to proactively manage departmental budgets, maintaining the overall expenditures to align with predefined budget allocations and organizational objectives of the company. Provide vital support to the Financial Manager in overseeing departmental human resources, offering strategic guidance, performance evaluations, and constructive feedback to foster a cohesive and high-performing team environment. Exercise daily administration by approving suppliers that will be uploaded onto the Creditor Management System (CMS) and update any changes to existing suppliers banking and financial details. Ensure that the approval of departmental invoices and payments are done effectively while facilitating seamless fund transfers via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) platforms, in order to maintain operational effectiveness. Conduct weekly follow-ups on outstanding invoices and payments and collaborate with relevant departments to address discrepancies and streamline financial processes for optimal efficiency. Take proactive steps to manage and optimize the company team's operations, ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer service and meticulous data management to uphold organizational standards and exceed client expectations. Requirements: Matric. 3-year degree in Accounting.
