Business Manager: Plush - Pretoria

Job Purpose

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Manager to lead our Plush home care and shoe care brand. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the brands operations, including strategic planning and implementation, pricing and profitability, sales and marketing, and product development. This role requires strong project management and leadership skills to manage key internal and external stakeholders and collaborate closely with relevant functional streams including sales, operations, supply chain, finance and category management teams to achieve brand success.

Required Learning

Business / Marketing Degree

Minimum ten years experience in a senior FMCG role in either Brand Management/Trade Marketing/ Operations environment with a proven track record of managing brands, resources, people and customers

Home care category experience/exposure essential

Net revenue management experience/exposure advantageous

Proven track record of strong project management experience

Strong negotiation skills

Excellent presentation and communication skills essential

Key Job Outputs

Strategic Planning:

o Develop and implement comprehensive and robust business plans to achieve brand goals and objectives.

o Identify market trends, consumer insights, and competitive dynamics to drive strategic initiatives.

Sales and Marketing Management:

o Lead marketing initiatives and leverage relevant functional stakeholders to ensure optimal execution.

o Drive the sales key account management and category management teams to maximize brand visibility, market penetration, and revenue growth.

o Net revenue management - develop pricing strategies, promotional campaigns, and product positioning strategies.

Product Development:

o Collaborate with innovation and supply chain teams to introduce new products and improve existing ones.

o Lead the introduction of new products to Category, Sales and Operations Teams.

o Ensure product quality, packaging and sustainability align with customer/market demands and regulatory standards.

Financial Management:

o Manage the budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance of the brand. o Full brand P&L accountability. o Monitor profitability metrics, cost control measures, and pricing strategies to optimise margins.

Market Analysis and Competitive Intelligence:

o Conduct regular market research and analysis to identify growth opportunities and consumer preferences.

o Monitor competitor activity and market trends to adjust strategies and pricing accordingly.

Cross-functional Collaboration and Project management:

o Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability; working closely with the internal functional stakeholders responsible for the brand to ensure alignment with overall business objectives.

o Identify and manage effective implementation of all special projects. o Lead relevant meetings to ensure all aspects and key projects relating to the brand are successfully concluded.
