We are currently looking for a Clerk of Works (Civil) to join our team. This is a 12-month contract position based in the Middleburg area.
Minimum Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Appropriate qualification in Civil or Instrumentation Engineering (NQF Level 6)
- Safety course: A3
- Safety Leadership Programme
- A qualification in project management would be an advantage
Experience:
- Extensive experience as a Foreman in the construction or mining industry
- Experience in implementation related projects would be advantageous
- Experience in the coal mining industry would be advantageous
Knowledge and Skills:
- A good knowledge of legislation relating to the mining industry. E.g. Mine
- health and safety act, Environmental legislation including the Occupational, Health and Safety Act
- In depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical or civil engineering processes and practices, as well as within the construction discipline
- An understanding of contracting principles
- Knowledge of project management packages such as Microsoft Project
- Working knowledge with of the discipline specific principles
- Ability to read and interpret detailed drawings
- Communications skills (written and verbal)
